Long Overdue Update..

Where to begin? We've been home with Zola for six weeks now and what a journey!!!
I left for Addis on Jan 11th, even before we were cleared by embassy, to take custody of our little girl and ended up staying for a month!!! The wait, the unknown, of how long I would be in Addis was HARD but the blessing in that long wait was bonding with her.

I hope I can blog on my month long stay in Addis soon ......

Embassy Update

The US Embassy has requested an interview with a key person in our case and it has been scheduled for Jan 17th. I'm praying all goes well on said date & the evidence presented is enough to clear our case.

Until then, keeping my fingers & toes crossed..

Submitted!!!

We finally got the email that we've been submitted to Embassy!!!! Woohoo!!!.

It's been 5 long months since we left our daughter and two months since passing court. Hoping this last phase of the approval process goes without a hitch and we can soon reunite.

Hiccup..

It's not international adoption, well, adoption in general without hiccups, right? Found out last week that our court decree has to be re-written. Sigh. More delays. But we soldier on to bringing our daughter home.

Hope the next update will be of better news...

Exhale.

For the past three months(since our court date), I've felt like I've been holding my breath, in regards to our adoption, but today, I can finally exhale, because WE PASSED COURT!!!!!

We've had some major bumps along the way, still expecting some bumps but I'm in awe of HIS faithfulness in this journey!!!

Here's introducing our daughter, Zola Atemuchi, who just recently turned one. Happy Birthday sweet girl!!!!

Funk...

I know I've been bad about blogging about our trip to Ethiopia, but I still cannot put it in words...yet

We are still waiting for our MOWA letter with two days to go before court closure. The not knowing is putting me in a funk and also other news from our agency that there might be complications with our MOWA letter..NOT what I wanted to hear!!!

Just praying that things are resolved & we can bring our little girl home.
